River City Networking's Mission and Guidelines
Mission Statement: We exist to generate more business through referrals. The way to build your business is by helping other people build their business. Ask yourself daily, “What can I do to help other members?”. Business relationships are built through commitment and trust.
Guidelines: The function of RCN is to have a solid referral base for all members. The group is limited to non-competing business members. If there is an area of over lap within the group, the members with the overlap need to work this out together. Please, do not put other members in the position of having to make a choice for whom to refer to.
Whenever possible, try to use other members’ products/services when you need that item/service. The more familiar you are with the members products/services, the better you can refer them to others. There will be an all-member meeting once a month (last Wednesday of the month) so we all get a chance to see and talk to each other and new group members get to meet everyone. Business referrals are built through trust and established business relationships.
Members are expected to make contact with other members and do a short “One-on-One” meeting for the purpose of understanding what clients will be the best referrals for each business. There are forms for available to help promote this process.
Members carry a business card file/holder with the cards of all the other members to hand out while you are out and about doing your business or just to have on hand for neighbors or friends. Keep your fellow members supplied with up to date cards to hand out
Please make sure your contact information is correct, as weekly tips and information are sent out as received from within the group and from other business groups around town.
Other “RCN” members are not for building your down line. Everyone has their own business to promote. If someone is interested in buying your product for them selves please do not pressure them to join you in your business.
Membership dues are $55.00 which includes your first batch of referral slips. Membership renewals are $50.00 paid yearly.
Referral slips are $3.00/20 (cost to produce). When you have a referral for someone, fill out the slip with all the contact information so the person you are referring can make contact with your referral. “Referral” gets the white copy, you keep the yellow copy and the pink copy is given to the group coordinator for tracking.
Mail your copies in once a month in the self addressed envelopes provided for you or hand them in at the weekly meetings. More slips are available from the group coordinator when you run out. No one makes any profit from either the $55.00/dues or the referral slips. There will be a “Master Tracking” book available to determine number of referrals given, received and success of referrals.
As of November 2009, each member must have 5 referrals a month. This can be as little as handing out business cards to people. You must get contact information so the member can follow up. This is tracked and members who do not bring at least 5 referrals a month are asked to leave.
Referrals cards are available for you to give to any potential business not already represented in the group once you become a member of RCN.
Your “new sales” people can be your referral source for years to come. Word of mouth is ALWAYS better than any other business source. Group size will be kept at 40 to 50.
I hope this helps explain the concept of the River City Networking group. The $55.00 is non refundable as it all goes to pay for promotion of the organization to increase members and your income. A supply of referral slips will be maintained for members to purchase. The group has requested that new members not be in another “referral” group as it is not fair to try to split referrals between two different organizations.
